So.....about the
recap of 2015, I've decided to abandon plan to write that post, as you know it
has a lot of stuff to write about and I'm sure no one would wanna read such
long posts especially there was nothing being updated on the blog (well, I have
written till May but anyways I've made my decision not to post it.) Instead of
those boring stuffs why not update you guys with what I'm up to recently right?
haha Let's begin!
Yup, the title has
mentioned "Dance Drama", for those of you have read my post about the
event in my previous blog. Yup, that was 3 years ago and yup, I still have not
left the place (haha?) BUT ANYWAYS, this time the committees decided to make
something useful and special for the selected dancers to perform for the event
- Dance Training Camp for 3 days and 2 nights in our beloved campus to let all
dancers to understand more about hip hop culture, boosting up their confidence
and most importantly creating a bond for everyone who is involved with the
event.
DAY 1
We were required
to arrive campus early in the morning (well it's just between 8-9 am, you know,
semester break. hahaha) Thanks to Yik Kean's morning call I manage to wake up
and HAVE BREAKFAST xD and arrived on time. I was alone when I first
arrive camp and as usual, being awkward, I silently flipping my phone in the
girls dorm.
The camp started
off with simple ice breaking session.

I have to say, at the beginning of the game,
everyone was so quiet sitting down listening to the committees briefing and
proceed with the game. haha (awww so shy~~) Things started to heat up when
random weird punishments were involved haha. (Damn, the dudes can twerk
weyyyy!)

No complicated method were used to assign us into groups, a puzzle piece
brought us together (fate much? lol) My group was the first one to complete the
puzzle ouo and we were given the priority to choose what stationary that we
want to use. Being greedy, we quickly chose as much markers and highlighters as
we can XD and forgotten one important thing - pencil. (I guess that was our
punishment? haha ) There comes the difficult part after forming a crew- coming
up with a name and a slogan. All sorts of names have been thought, and that
included weird ones too hahaha
Dance sharing

Jessie basic hip hop dance sharing and also a brief
introduction to hip hop history. During hip hop session, what I can say is, my
body does not belong to me anymore haha with the intensive master class with
the basic movements and the most important thing for hip hop dance - BOUNCING.
Honestly speaking it was a love and hate feeling for me towards that haha (if
you know why. xD) After that first sharing session, most of the campers were out
of breath and could feel the burn in every single part of the body. Lucky
before proceeding to the next sharing, Fy and Ty's Urban Choreography we will
given about 5 minutes to get some breath. Everyone in the room knocked out but
for me, I decided NOT to have a shut eye- and that was a wrong choice. haha
After dinner, something that we could relax and
cool down for a bit- Movie and dance video session (Yaay!). Well, with the cold
and comfortable atmosphere in the class with comfy clothes and some brought
pillows after such tiring day anyone could fall asleep in mid of watching the
movie.
That was basically end of day 1 and some of us
dropped by next door lepak-ed watch videos and have chit chat session.
Day 2
I did not had a
nice sleep, it was super duper cold- I wore jacket, long pants and covered my
legs sharing blanket with Laoshu and woke up in the middle of the night to wear
socks while she woke up twice to put on her leggings and socks xD
Round two dance

Introduction to Locking with TY and Girlstyle choreography with Jessie. Everyone had fun in round two, maybe because it is choreography? Like, straight to the point-ish. The guys are owning the choreography on FLEEK releasing their inner diva, WAY WAY more feminine than I am. DAYUUM
Dance Workshop

Hip hop workshop
with choreography giving us in depth knowledge on hip hop dance with his
experiences in the dance scene. Also, learnt some ways to make myself improve and level up my standard. Through this workshop I
was able to see a different side of him (well, he was one of the judges during
my first dance battle last October and I was afraid to approach him..so you get
the point...RIGHT~? :3)
Station Games
4 stations in total and half of the stations
involved getting wet. (oh the horror~ jkjk) My team was assigned to those
stations as the first two places to visit and that was sort of a torture being
dripping wet when playing the remaining two stations (especially "Snatch
the Tail"). In short, everyone had fun making sure that they could win the
opposing team and make them covered with water~

We were told to prepare a 15 minute sketch and my
group was assigned with the theme "parent and child relationship"
while other two groups theme was "friendship."

After sketch, even though most people are still tired, but we had a midnight
cypher session next door jamming with fun.
Day 3
We were allowed to wake up later OuO The main agenda for today is almost everyone's nightmare- Cypher session. Yup, cypher.

Results Announcement
*Cue's Drum rolls* The moment of truth has arrived, the announcement for the best performing crew (slaying the station games and gaining marks with the sketched prepared.) and also the official selection of the main characters for the drama. The results, as usual was announced from the other other way around and then left two crews. SWAGs vs RADI-O.

Honestly speaking, the whole crew thinks that the RADI-O will be crowned champion- especially they slayed all 4 station games. We totally did not see that coming. haha
Then comes the announcement of the main role of the drama, little did we know, the two people (YS and Sally) who score the main role was also from my crew! All kill wey, all kill haha.
